Presidential Administration responds to Kirill’s plans to visit Kyiv

Patriarch Kirill's desire to visit the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra is indicative of his hope for a change of power in Ukraine and can be seen as indirect support for pro-Russian candidates for the presidency of Ukraine. Yuri Ruban, chair of the Main Department for Humanitarian Policy under the Presidential Administration, said this on Pryamyy TV-Channel, according to Fakty.

According to him, in order to influence the choice of Ukrainians, all instruments are being applied in Russia, including the issue of faith.

“His visit to Ukraine is not of key importance, he can dream as much as he wants. He talks about changing the political situation saying that he hopes for a change of power in Ukraine, which will open a way for the Kremlin candidates,” Ruban said.
