Religious Building of Jehovah's Witnesses Set on Fire in Sumy Region

In the village of Shostka of the north-eastern Ukrainian region of Sumy, the roof of the main building of the Hall of Kingdom of Jehova’s Witnesses burnt down.

In the village of Shostka of the north-eastern Ukrainian region of Sumy, the roof of the main building of the Hall of Kingdom of Jehova’s Witnesses burnt down.  

According to representatives of the district department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, the fire spread very quickly and covered the area of 70 square meters including the attic.

There  were no victims. In view of the character f the fire, the firemen suspected the building was set on fire. The police consider intentional arson to be the most probable cause of the fire. Expert examination is being conducted.

In March, 2010, in Shostka, unknown persons set a Roman Catholic chapel on fire an  in May, 2010 the same happened to a Church of the Holy Trinitry of UOC-KP. A year later, a wooden Church of the Holy Intercession of UOC-KP burnt down.
