On July 27, 2021, in the Synodal Hall of the Metropolitan House, the Primate of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine, Metropolitan Epifaniy, received Metropolitan Chrysostomos of Kyrenia, who, with the blessing of Archbishop Chrysostomos II of New Justiniana and all Cyprus, arrived in Kyiv to celebrate the day of remembrance of the Holy equal-to-the-apostles Prince Volodymyr and the 1033rd anniversary of the Baptism of Rus-Ukraine.
The meeting was also attended by Archbishop Yevstratiy, deputy head of the OCU's Department for External Church Relations, the official website of the OCU reports.
On behalf of the Archbishop of Cyprus, Metropolitan Chrysostomos conveyed warm congratulations and best wishes, as well as a symbolic gift – an artistic image of the recently consecrated Cathedral of the Church of Cyprus.
Metropolitan Epiphanius of Kyiv and All Ukraine congratulated Metropolitan Chrysostomos on his arrival at the celebration and shared his good impressions of his stay in Cyprus in 2016, in particular, from communicating with His Beatitude Archbishop Chrysostomos, Primate of the Church of Cyprus.
In memory of the visit, His Beatitude presented the guest with a Panagia, as well as a book about two years of development of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine.
On July 27 and 28, a representative of the Church of Cyprus will take part in prayer and worship on the occasion of the holidays.
