The Roman Catholic Parish of St. Mary Magdalene in Lviv demands that the city authorities should return the church building to the parish. The community sent an address in this regard to the Kyiv Economic Court on 5 October. According to the parish priest, Fr. Volodymyr Kusnezh, the believers want the church to function and meet the needs of the Roman Catholics of a large part of Lviv.

In a commentary to ZAXID.NET the priest said: “We sent a claim to the Kyiv Economic Court to dispute the right of ownership of the City Council to our church and return it to our religious community.” The interested residents of Lviv gathered 25 thousand UAH for the proceedings.

“It is a property trial and the state dues make up 1%, and our church is estimated to cost over 6 million UAH,” added the priest. He stressed that the parish demands that the Church should be returned but the concerts of spiritual and classical music should continue to be held with the existing frequency.
