Russian authorities destroy the unfinished mosque in Crimea

Fazil Ibraimov, one of the protest activists, was arrested on February 15, 2018 in Simferopol, two criminal cases were instituted against him. He is currently detained at the pretrial detention center of Simferopol.

 

In early June 2018, in Simferopol district, representatives of the company Akura destroyed with the special equipment the building of the unfinished mosque Ar-Rahman. According to the activists of “protest field Striletska", the mosque was built at the cost of the community. This is reported by the Crimean human rights group.


Lawyer Mammet Mambetov said that Akura did not present to the district community a court decision to demolish the building.


Previously, it was reported that in place of the “protest field Striletska”, where people live in private homes, they plan to build a new district for 9 thousand people called “Crimean Rose”.
