Russian Foreign Ministry dissatisfied with Court decision on Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra

13.08.2023, 15:02

"International organizations should take note of the decision to evict monks from the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra," stated the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the aggressor country.

This was reported by Velyky Kyiv.

The Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs also expresses concerns that the Lavra might be looted while the case is being considered in the courts.

It should be noted that the UOC-MP [Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Moscow Patriarchate] has not yet signed the property transfer agreement of the Lower Lavra. Additionally, on August 11, unknown individuals barricaded themselves in the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra.

On August 9, the court deemed the termination of the lease of the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra to the UOC-MP as lawful.
