Russian occupiers in Ukraine thanked several Belarusian monasteries for assistance

"We express our immense gratitude to Mother Gavriyil for providing humanitarian aid and to the parishioners of the monasteries of Hrodna, Novogrudok, and Zhivovich. The entire Orthodox Belarus supports us through the hegumen," read one of the four soldiers from Russian units, struggling to read and pronounce clearly unfamiliar Belarusian names, on camera from a piece of paper.

Among the items included in the humanitarian aid, the soldier lists cloaks, raincoats, sweet gifts, and icons.

It should be noted that the Grodno Nativity of the Virgin Female Monastery, which has been under the leadership of Hegumeness Gavriyil for over 30 years, has never concealed its participation in assisting Russian troops. However, the Novogrudok (Lavrishchevsky) and Zhivovich monasteries, mentioned as well, apparently did not openly advertise their support for Russian aggression in Ukraine, according to the publication.
