Session of Holy Synod of Russian Orthodox Church to be held during Patriarch Kirill’s visit to Ukraine

According to the program published by UNIAN with reference to the Synodal Information Department of the Moscow Patriarchate, a session of the Holy Synod of the Russian Orthodox Church will be held during Moscow Patriarch Kirill’s visit to Ukraine on July 27 in the Kyiv Cave Monastery.

As RISU previously reported, Patriarch Kirill also plans to meet with Catholicos-Patriarchate of All Georgia Ilia II.

The full schedule of the patriarch’s visit is as follows:

July 26

The patriarch arrives in Kyiv. In the evening he will meet with Catholicos-Patriarchate of All Georgia Ilia II.

July 27

At 10:00 the patriarch together with Metropolitan Volodymyr of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church-Moscow Patriarchate and bishops and priests will hold a solemn prayer on Volodymyr’s Hill.
At 11:00 in the Kyiv Cave Monastery a session of the Holy Synod of the Russian Orthodox Church will begin.

July 28

On the St. Volodymyr’s Day and the Day of the Baptism of Rus’ Patriarch Kirill will celebrate a Liturgy at the Kyiv Cave Monastery together with Catholicos-Patriarchate Ilia II, Metropolitan Volodymyr of the UOC-MP, and clergy from Ukraine, Russia, Georgia and other countries.
