Metropolitan Epifanit of Kyiv and all Ukraine of the OCU met with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the state of Israel to Ukraine Michael Brodsky at his residence on November 11.

This is reported by the OCU website.

The parties touched upon issues of cooperation, pilgrimage of Ukrainian believers to the Holy Land, construction of a memorial in Babi Yar, aggression of the Russian Federation and human rights violations in the temporarily occupied territories.

For his part, Metropolitan Epifaniy informed the distinguished guest about the development of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine and the process of free accession of Orthodox communities to it.

"If the community has decided by an overwhelming majority of votes, then it has the legal right to be in the OCU and we will defend this right, despite artificially created provocations," the Primate of the OCU said.

The meeting participants also discussed the condemnation of anti-Semitism, the epidemiological situation in Ukraine and the world, and the consumer attitude of humanity to the environment, in the context of the recent Climate Summit in Glasgow.
