"I call on all those who are tired: do works of mercy, and they will revive and restore you," said His Beatitude Sviatoslav, Head of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church, on the 123rd week of Russia's war against Ukraine.
This was reported by the Information Department of the UGCC.
The head of the UGCC said that this week he had the opportunity to see the best benefactors of Ukraine over the past year. He was impressed by one in particular, a private individual from the US who has spent hundreds of millions of dollars from his own pocket on charity in Ukraine over the past year. Interestingly, he has no Ukrainian roots and no connection to Ukraine: "Yet in his address, he said the following: "I want to be exhausted, having given everything I could for the victory of Ukraine." These words struck me deeply as I believe this is the key to not getting tired. When one does good deeds, the Lord Himself shall lift them up."
According to the head of the UGCC, we will overcome the madness of the enemy with the wisdom of God's love through donations and charity.
"While the enemy rages in his hatred, we are bringing victory closer with the power of our charity. So I encourage everyone to donate. If you feel tired and pessimistic, do good deeds, and they will give meaning to your present and future. Then we will be able to celebrate the day of Pentecost - the Descent of the Holy Spirit on God's people, on each person, on God's universe," Patriarch Sviatoslav said.
