The Permanent Synod of Bishops of UGCC held in Lviv - фото 1
September 9, 2020 a regular 13th (64th) session of the Permanent Synod of the UGCC led by His Beatitude Sviatoslav, Head and Father of the UGCC was held in Lviv.

Among the participants were bishop Teodor Martyniuk, the participant of the Permanent Synod, bishops Ihor Vozniak, Yaroslav Pryriz and Venedykt Aleksiychuk and deputies of participants of the Permanent Synod who could not attend this session due to COVID-19 pandemic.

Topics which were brought up during the session were as follows: preparation for an online session of the Synod of Bishops of the UGCC, stage of implementing the Particular law of the UGCC, presented by Fr. Andriy Tanasiychuk, P.h.D, deputy head of Canonical Department, marking jubilee celebrations and significant dates in 2021 the program of which is being developed by Oleh Turiy, P.h.D. Fr. Roman Shafran, P.h.D reported a state of preparation for VII session of the Patriarchal Cathedral under the circumstances of the pandemic. Bishops also discussed other issues concerning pastoral canonical, liturgical, ecumenical and personal matters.

At the end His Beatitude Sviatoslav expressed his gratitude to all participants of this session of the Permanent Synod and highlighted the importance of similar working meetings, since they help a lot in administering Church during the Coronavirus pandemic when physically it is impossible to convene the Synod of Bishops of the whole Church.
