The development of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine, pilgrimage and securing the interests of the OCU in the Holy Land were the subject of a meeting between Ukrainian ambassador to Israel Yevhen Korniychuk and Primate of OCU, Metropolitan Epifaniy.

This is reported by the Embassy of Ukraine on its Facebook page.

"The meeting was held on the premises of the Kyiv Orthodox Theological Academy. They discussed the situation in world Orthodoxy and Ukraine, in particular, in the context of the development of the OCU," the report says.

The parties also touched upon issues related to the pilgrimage of Ukrainian citizens to Christian shrines in Israel.

"Options for ensuring the interests of believers and clergy of the OCU in the Holy Land were discussed," the embassy points out.
