The Vatican will continue to support Ukraine. This statement was made on October 18 during the visit of Deputy Foreign Minister of Ukraine Mykola Tochytsky to the Vatican and the Italian Republic.
This is reported by the Catholic Media Center referring to the page of the Embassy of Ukraine to the Holy See.
"We appreciate and look forward to further support from the Holy See for Ukraine," Mykola Tochytsky said at a meeting with Monsignor Myroslav Vakhovsky, Deputy Secretary for Interstate Relations of the Holy See.
Deputy Minister Tochytsky expressed gratitude to the Holy See for the attention of His Holiness Pope Francis to the situation in Ukraine amid Russian aggression. The parties noted the importance of resuming the work of the OSCE monitoring mission in Donbas.
In turn, Monsignor Vakhovsky assured the Ukrainian side of the Holy See's continued support for our state, as well as that Pope Francis, is closely monitoring the situation in Ukraine.
We remind you that Pope Francis is ready to mediate the meeting of the president of Ukraine with Vladimir Putin.
