Today Ukraine Commemorates Chornobyl Liquidators

Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych has commemorated the victims and liquidators of the Chornobyl Disaster in Kyiv on Tuesday, December 14, the Day to Honor Liquidators of the Chornobyl Disaster, the Kyiv Post reports.

The president laid a wreath to the Warriors of Chornobyl memorial sign and the Heroes of Chornobyl memorial mound. Also in the memory of those killed while cleaning up the damage of the explosion at the Chornobyl Nuclear Power Plant, Yanukovych lit candles in the Church of the Lord's Entry into Jerusalem (Chornobyl Church), the Ukrainian president's press service reported.
