UCU to Host Events Marking International Museum Day

The Ukrainian Catholic University invites interested persons to the International Museum Day, which will be held at 3 p.m. on May 16 at 35a Khutorivka Street in Lviv

The Ukrainian Catholic University invites interested persons to the International Museum Day, which will be held at 3 p.m. on May 16 at 35a Khutorivka Street in Lviv, the press service of UCU reported

The program includes the following events:

1. Opening of the exhibition “The House Icon of Bukovyna Region of the 19th Century.” The visitors will have a chance to see some of the best examples of house icons of folk artists of Bukovyna collected by a Lviv collector Andriy Tsybko. The visitors will also have an opportunity to compare the Bukovyna icons with icons painted on glass by artists from the Pokuttia and Hutsul regions and collected and presented to UCU by a collector Ivan Hrechko. The two collections are the largest collections of folk icons of the mentioned regions.

2. Exhibition “Master of Castles” in honor of a famous museum promoter, Borys Voznytskyi.

3. Seminar “Modern Sacral Art” within the framework of an art project Sacred Space.

The organizers' main idea is to seek God by means of modern art.
