Ukraine Prepares Dossiers for UNESCO World Heritage Listing of Ukrainian Easter Egg (Pysanka), Reshetylivka Embroidery, and Cultural Landscape of Chernihiv.
According to Ukrinform, Minister of Culture and Information Policy, Oleksandr Tkachenko, announced on the "Yedini Novyny" telethon that the Ministry is preparing dossiers for the inclusion of several cultural treasures into the UNESCO World Heritage List. Among them are the Ukrainian Easter egg (Pysanka), Reshetylivka embroidery, and the cultural landscape of ancient Chernihiv.
Tkachenko mentioned that work on these dossiers is currently underway, along with additional dossiers for cities, particularly focusing on the cultural landscape of ancient Chernihiv. He also emphasized that UNESCO is aware of all requests made by Ukraine.
Considering the category of "objects under threat," the Minister expressed optimism that progress can be made swiftly in recognition of Ukrainian embroidery, the Easter egg tradition, and other elements of intangible cultural heritage.
