With the financial support of Germany, Caritas-Ukraine will continue to implement its extensive project in Ukraine in the coming years.

The implementation of Germany-funded humanitarian projects of Caritas will center around the areas of Donetsk and Luhansk regions, controlled by the Ukrainian government. Over 28,000 people -- especially those affected by the long-lasting conflict in Eastern Ukraine -- have been receiving assistance from Caritas. They are provided with fuel, medical and sanitary coupons as well as basic food products. Severe and chronic patients, as well as elderly people and those with disabilities in some hard-to-reach areas along the contact line, are being granted access to health care and social services through the organization's transport services.

German Association Caritas together with Caritas Ukraine have supported for many years those in Ukraine who need help – socially vulnerable, including internally displaced persons. From 2014 to 2019, German Federal government has contributed funds to the humanitarian activities of Caritas Ukraine in the amount of almost EUR 9 million. In addition, Caritas implemented a number of social projects in Ukraine (for example, arranging of social centers, initializing youth work, social services) in the framework of assistance aimed at the development, which was financed by Germany.
