“A prayer coming from the heart is originally directed to God in hope of a better life for our families, our country and the people as a whole. Ukrainian communities are scattered throughout almost all countries of the globe. Such a large and powerful prayer for Ukraine right now, when celebrating the 100th anniversary of the UNR, will demonstrate the incredible unity of Ukrainians around the world, their faith in God and Ukraine,” the organizers emphasized.
On August 25, at 1 o'clock in the morning, local time, the parishioners of Ardeer -- simultaneously with Ukrainians in the whole world -- will perform the spiritual anthem of Ukraine “God, the Great and the One.”
According to the plan, on August 24, 2018, at exactly 6:00 pm Kyiv time, Ukrainians from Ukraine and across the world will unite, performing the Ukrainian anthem “God, the Great and the One” by composer Mykola Lysenko.
Members of Ukrainian communities and communities around the world, in particular, of Australia, Canada, the USA, Italy, Greece, Denmark and the UK, will participate. The choirs (including the church ones) whose repertoire includes this essay by Lysenko will also join. In order to fully synchronize the melody, rhythm and tone, it is suggested that a version be used which notes are featured in the Ukrainian Wikipedia.
To start the prayer all at the same time, the organizers say the participants should synchronize the time using the website time.is.
The prayer in Ukraine will begin at 18:00. In Australian Ardeer it will be 1:00 at that moment - synchronous prayer will begin there at that time.
