At the World Youth Days in Lisbon, Ukrainian youth took part in the Stations of the Cross, which took place on Friday evening with the participation of Pope Francis. They wore t-shirts featuring portraits of children who died in Ukraine at the hands of the Russian aggressor.

"This silent action at the World Youth Days is symbolic because these children will never speak their words. These children will never grow up. During this Stations of the Cross, our nation's wounds, our wounds, we want to unite with Christ's wounds. Resurrection comes through suffering and death. We have come here to witness Christ's suffering, suffering with all of Ukraine. And to encounter the risen Christ, for Ukraine to rise again," emphasized the co-initiator of the action, Deputy Head of the UGCC Youth Commission, Father Roman Demush.
