On June 25-28, 2021, the Kyiv International Institute of sociology (KIIS) conducted an all-Ukrainian public opinion poll on attitudes towards the main Churches of Ukraine. 1,003 respondents living in all regions of Ukraine (except the Autonomous Republic of Crimea) and the occupied parts of Luhansk and Donetsk regions were interviewed.
The question was the following: Who would Ukrainians like to see as the Primate of the United Church?
Table 1 shows the results for the imaginary situation of unification of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine and the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Moscow Patriarchate, and Table 2 shows the imaginary situation of unification of all three major churches: the Orthodox Church of Ukraine, the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Moscow Patriarchate and the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church. For the first situation, the respondent was asked to choose between Epifaniy and Onufriy, who they would like to see as Primate. In the second situation, the respondent was asked to choose between Epifaniy, Onufriy and Sviatoslav Shevchuk.
Who would you like to see as the Primate of a single local church in the event of the unification of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine, the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Moscow Patriarchate and the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church?
