"Representatives of the reactive monitoring mission of UNESCO will be in Kyiv next week to check how we preserve and protect the historical center, the sites of St Sofia and Lavra," Fomenko said.

According to her, the reactive mission usually comes and ays attention to those places where there are certain problems.

"If we have certain problems in Kyiv with buffer zones and preservation of the sites, this is a mission that comes to us almost every year," the Deputy Minister added.

Fomenko has noted that this mission has on board some well-known experts who will check how the UNESCO heritage is protected in Ukraine.

"We will have a serious conversation with them and carry out an extensive analysis of the changes that are taking place in Kyiv. It is important that all the recommendations and things that are currently being done in the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports are implemented in urban development and in the city's master plan, which we are all very much waiting for approval," she said.
