For the first time, the Primate of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine, Metropolitan Epifaniy of Kyiv and all Ukraine, will celebrate the Liturgy in the Church of St. John the Theologian.

Metropolitan Epifaniy plans to come to the city on October 6. Over a dozen bishops and priests of the OCU will arrive with him. On September 24, it was announced in the church.

As Fr Victor (Marinchak) told KHARKIV Today, the Church has already begun preparations for the historic arrival of Metropolitan Epifaniy, who will be accompanied by 11 bishops and 15 priests.

“This is an opportunity to reveal the power of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine, whose strength is embodied in the person of its Primate. New qualities of Church life are manifested in the way he serves and preaches and speaks at different speeches and in different places. We feel that a different, new life of our Church is beginning. The fact that he will arrive personally accompanied by many bishops and priests will give us the opportunity to feel the power of our new OCU,” said Fr Victor.
