Vandals destroyed gravestones in the yard of UOC-MP church in Uman

On July 10, in Uman unknown attackers destroyed the gravestones in the territory of the Assumption Church of the UOC (MP) and damaged the rector’s car.

The signs of vandalism were first noticed by the church guard.

This is reported by the Information and Educational Department of the UOC (MP) citing the priest of the church, priest Vadym Payevsky.

Father Vadym notes that in the morning he was called by a security guard and told about an act of vandalism in the church.

“The morning began with sad news. The church guard called and said that he had discovered signs of vandalism on the territory of the temple. Unidentified people tried to break the lock on the water supply column, instead they broke two tombstones, tore up the power supply, damaged my car,” Vadym Payevsky wrote on Facebook.

Police arrived at the scene of crime.
