Cardinal Matteo Zuppi, the Holy See's Special Envoy for Ukraine, participated in a joint wreath-laying ceremony alongside Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, the First Lady, and other guests. The ceremony took place at the Wall of Remembrance, honoring those who lost their lives in the Russian-Ukrainian war.

This was reported by Andrii Yurash, Ukraine's ambassador to the Holy See.

Afterward, he participated in the events celebrating Ukrainian Statehood Day, held at St. Michael's Square in Kyiv. Yurash expressed his sincere gratitude to the Holy See for this "exceptional gesture of respect toward Ukraine, acknowledging its statehood tradition, which dates back more than 1,000 years, as well as its ongoing struggle for independence in the war against the Russian aggressor."
