In the West, our war is eventually forgotten, and it is less and less written about and referred to. It is even called the "forgotten war".

In the West, our war is eventually forgotten, and it is less and less written about and referred to. It is even called the "forgotten war".

However, similar processes are taking place in Ukraine.

Patriarch of the UGCC Sviatoslav told about it in an interview to Livyy Bereh (Left Bank).

"The most dangerous thing is that we here in Ukraine begin to live as if there is no war. What shall we do in order not get used to the war? Visit the military hospital from time to time. The eyes of young guys with crippled limbs will tell you everything. They need to feel that their suffering is for a reason. That they are fighting for our peaceful life, " the First Hierarch said.

"It is very dangerous when in such circumstances someone will talk about the need at any cost, neglecting truth and justice, to end the war. Obviously for those who say so, it's like a computer game: you turn the war off and go for a coffee. Or you restart and play again. But you can't play war. Today we are talking about very deep and serious things on which our future depends," Patriarch Sviatoslav added.

The head of the UGCC gave a historical example, when peace at any cost ended in a great war.

"This reminds me very much of the insidious logic of Nazi propaganda in Europe in the context of Hitler's aggression. There were peacemakers, even in Britain, who said, " We stand for peace! We must accept the conditions put forward by the German leader, and not resist him!” This extremety is unacceptable, because in this case, the war does not really stop, it goes through a mutation. If we succumb to the aggressor, we will allow this aggression to reach all levels of Ukrainian society, and this will call into question the existence of the Ukrainian state and our people in general. I think no one wants peace at this price today. All the more so, such unjust peace, peace without truth," said Patriarch Sviatoslav.
