"We are grateful to God for helping bring our heroes home alive," - Primate of the OCU

23.09.2022, 09:20

We are pleased to announce the return of 215 defenders of Ukraine from Russian captivity. And we are eternally grateful to God that he hears our prayers and helps bring our heroes home alive.

Primate of the OCU, Metropolitan Epifaniy, wrote about it on Facebook.

“There is not a single Ukrainian family that has not been affected by this brutal Russian war against Ukraine. Forced, not of their own free will, but for the sake of their relatives – children, wives, mothers, fathers – families are now divided: someone is at the front, someone has become a temporary refugee, a forced migrant, someone will never return home alive or find their loved ones alive…

We ask God for victory and the establishment of a just peace so that families can reunite the soonest and that happy smiles shine on the faces of mothers and children, and only tears of happiness and love shine in their eyes. Just as we are now happy to announce the return of 215 defenders of Ukraine from Russian captivity. And we are eternally grateful to God that he hears our prayers and helps bring our heroes home alive.

Lord, save and preserve the Ukrainians!" said the Primate of the OCU.
