World Congress of Philosophic Departments of Catholic Universities to Be Held in Lviv
The World Congress of Philosophic Departments of Catholic Universities will begin on September 10 in Lviv. The event entitled "Religion, Culture, and Society: Modern Challenges and Prospects of Philosophy" will last for two days.
The symposium will be attended by young scholars, teachers, and professors from 9 countries of Europe and 30 scholarly institutions. The symposium will focus on the issues of the role and place of religion in the formation of the modern European identity.
As the organizers of the event reported to RISU, special attention will be paid to the current changes in the countries of the eastern Europe. The symposium will deal with the problems and prospects of development of the democratic processes in Europe and the role of the religious factor in them. A special emphasis will be on the Christian identity of Europe in the many-sidedness of its traditions and the future potential. The symposium will study the fundamental notions and principles belying the European society, its way of life, beliefs.
