This year's All-Ukrainian pilgrimage to Zarvanytsia, which takes place every year on the Sunday after the feast of the Apostles Peter and Paul, will take place online. This was announced by His Beatitude Sviatoslav, Father and Head of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church, on July 12 at the end of the Liturgy in the Patriarchal Cathedral of the Resurrection of Christ in Kyiv.
"This year, due to the coronavirus pandemic, we were compelled to cancel all crowded pilgrimages. The pilgrimage to Zarvanytsia will take place anyway, but this time it will happen online," the Head of the Church said.
According to him, the Ternopil-Zboriv Archeparchy will organize a whole spiritual program. "Therefore, I invite you to join this spiritual journey even at a distance," the Primate of the UGCC asked.
"Zarvanytsia is open. We are waiting. But I beg you, given the difficult epidemic circumstances, particularly in Western Ukraine, to take this road to Zarvanytsia privately, in your families or even individually. Zarvanytsia is open around the clock every day and awaits and invites each of you," the Head of the Church emphasized.
We invite all the faithful to take part in the Divine Liturgy, which will be broadcast live on Sunday, July 19, at 9.00 am from the Marian Spiritual Center in Zarvanytsia on the media resources of the UGCC via "Zhyve TV.
