Pope Francis will meet with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on Friday morning.
This was reported by Reuters, according to Glavkom.
The meeting will take place at an audience in the Apostolic Palace at 09:30 local time.
Pope Francis last met with Zelensky on the sidelines of the G7 summit in southern Italy this summer. They also met at the Vatican in December 2023.
According to journalists, Zelensky is also expected to hold talks with Italian Prime Minister Giorgio Meloni during his stay in Rome.
This will be the fourth meeting between the Ukrainian President and Pope Francis.
As reported previously, on October 9, at the end of the joint audience in St. Peter's Square, Pope Francis recalled the ancient prayer to the Mother of God. He urged everyone "to pray the Holy Rosary daily, placing themselves in the hands of the Blessed Virgin Mary." During the prayer, the Bishop of Rome entrusted the war-torn nations, "especially the people of long-suffering Ukraine, Palestine, Israel, Myanmar, and Sudan," to the care of the Virgin Mary.
