A delegation of the All-Ukrainian Council of Churches and Religious Organizations met with British MPs

According to the UCCRO's official website, during the meeting, representatives of the All-Ukrainian Council of Churches and Religious Organizations told the parliamentarians about the horrors of Russian military aggression against Ukraine, and the spiritual and humanitarian activities of Ukrainian churches and religious organizations to support defenders and civilians in times of war.
The representative of the Chairman of the Council of Churches and Deputy Chairman of the All-Ukrainian Union of Churches of Evangelical Christians-Baptists (AUCECB), Bishop Ihor Bandura, said:
“For us, this meeting is not just a diplomatic exchange; it is a testament to the deep historical and moral ties between our peoples. The United Kingdom has long been a defender of human rights, democracy and freedom of conscience - the principles for which Ukraine is fighting today in the face of brutal aggression. Religious communities have always been bridges of peace, solidarity and moral leadership. In times of war, these values are even more important. We count on our British partners not only as a source of support but also as strategic allies in ensuring that faith remains a source of strength, not a target of persecution.”
Religious leaders told the British parliamentarians about the state of religious freedom in Ukraine and the challenges faced by different denominations during the war. Additionally, the delegation of the Council of Churches drew the attention of British partners to religious persecution and crimes against humanity committed by Russia in the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine. Representatives of churches and religious organizations called on British parliamentarians to further support Ukraine in the context of establishing just peace and security guarantees for Ukraine.
The program of the UCCRO delegation's visit to London includes participation in a roundtable discussion at Chatham House, meetings with British government officials and parliamentarians, and religious and public figures. The delegation includes: the representative of the chairman of the Council of Churches, Bishop Ihor Bandura (AUCECB), Metropolitan Yevstratii (Orthodox Church of Ukraine), Bishop Kenneth Nowakowski (Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church), Bishop Anatolii Kozachok (Ukrainian Church of Christians of Evangelical Faith), Bishop Stanislav Nosov (Seventh-day Adventist Church in Ukraine), Fr Ruslan Mykhalkiv (Roman Catholic Church in Ukraine), Pastor Anatoliy Raychynets (Ukrainian Bible Society), Assistant to the Chief Rabbi of Kyiv and Ukraine, Gennadiy Bilorytsky (Association of Jewish Religious Organizations of Ukraine), and Oleksandr Zayets (Institute for Religious Freedom).
