Igor Cheremnykh, a clergyman of the Church of the Icon of the Mother of God of Kazan, Russian Orthodox Church, called the war in Ukraine "righteous" and blessed teenagers who are taught to kill in a special camp in the Kemerovo District of the Russian Federation.

This is reported by Focus.

The story with the clergyman was broadcast on the local Russian TV channel Kuzbas.

Cheremnykh spoke with journalists in a summer paramilitary camp for teenagers. Girls and boys are clad in military uniforms and actually trained to participate in future combat operations.

"The Church, of course, welcomes this case, when young people are preparing, training for service in the armed forces and other structures," the clergyman said.

The clergyman emphasized that the church blesses only those military training sessions that will be useful for "serving the Fatherland" in the future.

Chernykh also commented on Russia's war with Ukraine.

"The commandment "Thou shalt not kill'... Well, it may relate to some civilians... And this...it is about protecting our faith. This is, on the contrary, a God-pleasing cause," the clergyman of the Russian Orthodox Church said.
