A symbol of solidarity with Ukrainians: UGCC bishop entered in the Golden Book of the city of Büren, Germany
This was reported by the press service of the Apostolic Exarchate in Germany and Scandinavia.
The ceremony was attended by Burkhard Schwuchow, the mayor of Büren, and Fr. Christoph Severin, the parish priest of St. Nicholas. In his welcoming speech, the mayor said, “This is an expression of our solidarity with the Ukrainian people and recognition of your important mission in the service of peace.”
Bishop Bohdan, while accepting the honor, emphasized that he viewed it as a sign of respect and support for the entire Ukrainian people. He stated, “I hope that this event will go down in Büren’s history as a sign of gratitude and recognition from the Ukrainian people and the Church.”

The inclusion of Bishop Bohdan's name in the Golden Book was part of his visit to Büren, as the day before, he had presided over the Liturgy in St. Nicholas Church, where a national copy of the miraculous statue of Our Lady of Fatima, consecrated by Pope Paul VI, is kept. After the service, the bishop met with the mayor, thanked the community for its support of Ukraine, and presented a commemorative medal marking the 65th anniversary of the Apostolic Exarchate. This honor is a testament to the respect for his ministry and a symbol of the friendly ties between Büren and Ukrainians.
