Additional examinations in the case of the Metropolitan of Sviatohirsk are underway - SBU

According to Ukrinform, this was announced at a briefing on June 6 by the head of the press service of the SBU Main Directorate in Donetsk and Luhansk regions, Halyna Pryschepa.

"The investigation within the criminal proceedings is still ongoing. As you know, the court did not agree to release the Metropolitan on bail and extended his term of detention in a temporary detention center, so the criminal proceedings continue... The collection of evidence is ongoing, and additional examinations are to be appointed," Pryschepa said.

She stated that she would inform journalists as soon as the case was transferred to the court. "I will provide more information when a verdict is reached," the SBU representative said.

In April 2024, the Security Service documented subversive activities on the part of the rector of the Sviatohirsk Lavra of the UOC-MP, Metropolitan Arseniy.

Investigators notified the Metropolitan of suspicion under Part 2 of Article 114-2 (dissemination of information about the sending, movement or location of the Armed Forces, if it is possible to identify them on the ground) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. He faces up to 8 years in prison.

Law enforcement officials do not rule out that the rector of the Holy Dormition Sviatohirsk Lavra of the UOC (MP), Arseniy, who is suspected of "handing over" information about the positions of the Armed Forces to the occupiers, could have had accomplices.
