Ambassadors and Rabbis to Open Dnipropetrovsk Menorah Jewish Center
The opening ceremony of the Menorah Jewish center, the world’s largest Jewish community center, and the first Museum of Jewish History and the Holocaust in the post-Soviet space will take place October 16 in Dnipropetrovsk, Dnipropetrovsk-Komentari reported with reference to the press service of the Dnipropetrovsk Jewish community.
Among the ceremony participants will be the governor of Dnipropetrovsk Oblast Oleksandr Vilkul, Russia's Chief Rabbi Berl Lazar, Israeli Sephardi Chief Rabbi Shlomo, Israeli Information and Diaspora Affairs Minister Yuli Edelstein, CIS Federation of Jewish Communities President Levi Levayev, prominent religious and public figures from former Soviet countries, diplomatic representatives from the UK, USA, Israel, Germany, Sweden and other countries, leaders and heads of international organizations.
The event will include a ribbon-cutting ceremony and the unveiling of memorial plaques. Guests and journalists will have tour of the center. Then the opening ceremony of the Museum of Jewish History and the Holocaust will take place.
On October 21 the Menorah Jewish center will open for residents of Dnipropetrovsk and visitors.
