Bishops of the Roman Catholic Church urge everyone to publicly witness to the beauty of family life

We, the Catholic bishops of Ukraine, defending the dignity of the human person created as man or woman in the image of God, and taking care of sanctity and dignity of the family, aware of our duty to God and the fate of future generations, warn Ukrainian society of the danger of a new ideological enslavement of our people.

"We, the Catholic bishops of Ukraine, defending the dignity of the human person created as man or woman in the image of God, and taking care of sanctity and dignity of the family, aware of our duty to God and the fate of future generations, warn Ukrainian society of the danger of a new ideological enslavement of our people".

It was stated in the joint declaration of the Catholic Bishops of Ukraine on the danger of a new ideological enslavement of our people. In the Declaration the Catholic bishops of the UGCC and RCC are denouncing the first attempts at implementing gender ideology, as happened with the recent amendments to the Labor Code: “The gender theory seems to be yet another attempt to apply social engineering, because it perceives marriage and family as structures that can be built in an arbitrary manner. In fact, marriage and family are living organisms that grow organically and need to be nurtured and taken care of.”

The Bishops urge government representatives to worry about family and to actively family-oriented policy. “This task becomes even more important given the fact that we are experiencing an extensive demographic crisis,” they underscore in the document.

Also bishops call for Christian witness and urge everyone to participate actively in the public debate: “Do not be afraid to loudly and publicly witness to the beauty of the family. Let us share good personal experience with others, since it is vital. We have to make this courageous choice for the sake of happy life of individuals and the entire community.”
