Canadian sanctions against Kirill drive Russian diplomats hysterical
This is said in the statement of the diplomatic mission of the Russian Federation in Ottawa, TSN reports.
The diplomatic mission called the sanctions imposed on Kirill a “blasphemous act” and doubted that Canada respects the rights of all faiths.
”Russia's response to such rudeness and obscurantism will be adequate and will not take long to wait," the Russian Embassy threatens.
As it is known, except for the Patriarch, Canada has imposed sanctions on former Yandex CEO, Tigran Khudaverdyan, head of Roskomnadzor Andrey Lipov and his deputies Vladimir Logunov, Oleg Terlyakov, Vadim Subbotin and Milos Wagner, propagandist Peter Akopov and Ekaterina Andreeva. The Canadian authorities also imposed restrictive measures against Roskomnadzor itself and the Regnum news agency.
In June, the UK put Kirill on the sanctions list.
EU representative for foreign and security policy Josep Borrel expressed regret over the fact that the EU countries could not agree on sanctions against the patriarch of the Russian Orthodox Church.
