Community of UOC-MP Instructed to Dismantle Chapel Near Tithe Church
The State Architectural-Construction Inspection issued an instruction with regard to the illegal encasing of the foundation of the Tithe Church.
According to the document, the developer is to take appropriate steps to respond to the order, Dzerkalo Tyzhnia reports.
“The instruction was issued in connection with violating the ban. The developer must take appropriate steps to respond to the order within ten days,” said a representative of the Kyiv City State Administration, quoted by Ukrainian News.
The source did not specify when exactly the order was issued except from saying that it was done last week.
Earlier, on August 27, the head of the Kyiv City State Administration, Oleksandr Popov, stated that work on incasing the foundation of the Tithe Church is illegal. He noted that he does not know whether such an instruction was issued to the developer as of that moment.
In the end of 2011, Popov stated that nothing would be built on the foundation of the Tithe Church.
The chapel belongs to the community of the “Birth of the Holy Virgin of the Tithe Monastery” of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church-Moscow Patriarchate headed by Archimandrite Gedeon (Kharon).
