ADDRESS
of the Council of Evangelical Protestant Churches of Ukraine
on the occasion of the elections to the Parliament of Ukraine
The Ukrainian state today is involved in a particular responsible historical process in which the vote and position of people have tremendous weight and will determine the course of further development of our country for decades.
The formation by Ukrainian society of the comprehensive government for an efficient response to threats to the unity, integrity, independence and sovereignty of Ukraine.
So we call on all Ukrainian citizens go to the polls on October 26, 2014 and vote! Let your choice be conscious, deliberate and responsible with regard to the interests of the entire Ukrainian society. In the present situation, the indifference and refusal to participate in the elections constitutes a serious threat to peace and stability of our country.
Therefore we admonish everyone to reject any temptation of vote-selling, falsification of the election results or complicity in violations of election law. Only fair, transparent, democratic elections are a key to democracy and a safeguard from political corruption and usurpation of power.
Give your vote for a candidate or a political party, which, in your opinion, can establish Christian values, protect the national interests of Ukraine, ensure economic growth, make just laws and fight corruption.
We urge you to continue prayer and fasting for peace, unity, integrity and sovereignty of the Ukrainian state. Almighty God is able to protect our people, if each of us rejects evil and sin and converts to the Creator and Savior with repentance and humble heart.
We believe in a good future for Ukraine, in its spiritual and economic growth.
