Episcopal Ordination of Father Mykhailo Kvyatkovsky to take place in Winnipeg
Metropolitan Lavrentiy Hutsulyak of Winnipeg, the main consecrator, will preside over the Liturgy. Bishop Borys Gudziak, Metropolitan of Philadelphia, and Bishop David Motiuk, ruling bishop of the Edmonton Eparchy, will serve as co-consecrators.
The day before, November 7, at 6:00 PM, the Great Vespers with the Rite of Episcopal ordination will begin in the Cathedral of Saints Volodymyr and Olha.
The enthronement is scheduled for November 18, 2023. It will occur at the Church of the Intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Vancouver. The ceremony will begin with the Hierarchical Divine Liturgy at 10:00 AM.
As we reported, on August 24, 2023, the Vatican announced that His Holiness Pope Francis, having blessed the decision of the Synod of Bishops of the UGCC, appointed Fr. Mykhailo Kvyatkovsky as the ruling bishop of the Ukrainian Catholic Diocese of New Westminster.
