Fake news: Russia spreads false claims of Ukrainian soldiers burning the Bible - фото 1
A new episode of disinformation from Russia: a fake video is actively being circulated online claiming that a Ukrainian soldier is burning the Bible. Russian Telegram channels are the source of this false information.

The Disinformation Defense Center warns of attempts by Russian propaganda to manipulate different audiences. In Russian, they argue that the sacred book is being burned because it is written in the Russian language, while in Western audiences, it is used as evidence to support the claim that "Ukrainians are Satanists." This was reported by "Slovo pro Slovo".

"This is an attempt to fuel conflict by 'exposing Ukrainian crimes' to justify Russian aggression against a neighboring country and to achieve the cessation of military assistance to a country that, according to them, does not share 'European values'," the Disinformation Defense Center stated.

Experts note that such fake news is part of a larger plan to discredit Ukraine and the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the eyes of the world.

Disinformation and manipulation concerning Ukraine and its military remain key priorities of Russian propaganda. This recent incident highlights the need to critically evaluate information spread online and verify facts before sharing, experts advise.
