Four church leaders make Korrespondent’s list of top 100 most influential Ukrainians
On August 31 the magazine Korrespondent released its annual TOP 100 Most Influential Ukrainians ranking. The list includes leaders of churches in Ukraine, with Metropolitan Volodymyr (Sabodan) of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church-Moscow Patriarchate (UOC-MP) taking the highest ranking among them.
23. Metropolitan Volodymyr – Head of the UOC-MP
49. Patriarch Filaret – head of the UOC-Kyivan Patriarchate
54. Cardinal Lubomyr (Husar) – former head of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church (UGCC)
62. Patriarch Sviatoslav (Shevchuk) – head of the UGCC
Compared to the top 100 list that Korrespondent released last year, Metropolitan Volodymyr’s ranking rose 4 places, Patriarch Filaret’s dropped 5 places, Cardinal Lubomyr (Husar)’s rose 27 places, and Patriarch Sviatoslav (Shevchuk)’s dropped 1 place.
