Greek Catholic Church loses official status in Belarus - фото 1
The number of religious communities in Belarus has decreased following re-registration.

This was reported by 7х70.

In the Gomel region, 42 organizations have ceased their operations. Among those that were liquidated are communities of Evangelical Christians, Full Gospel Christians, Seventh-day Adventists, and Evangelical Christian Baptists. Additionally, two Jewish communities and a New Apostolic Church parish were unable to re-register.

The Belarusian Greek Catholic Church faced significant pressure and lost its status as a religious association due to the lack of re-registered parishes. This change restricts believers' rights to conduct lawful activities in accordance with the law.

The total number of religious organizations in the country has fallen by 4.6 percent. The main factors contributing to these closures are new legislative requirements and political influences, as state authorities have increased their control over the activities of smaller religious groups in various regions.
