Greek Catholics Were Familiarized with Social Projects of Other Confessions
KYIV — As part of the Social Days of the UGCC Greek Catholics visited the social projects of other confessions, informed deacon Ihor Shaban, head of the Commission of UGCC for the assistance of unity between Christians, as was reported by the press-office UGCC. For this occasion workers of social structures of the UGCC from Ivano-Frankivs’k, Lviv, Ternopil’, Kharkiv, and Donets’k as well as students of the Institute of Ecumenical Studies of the Ukrainian Catholic University went to Kyiv. In their opinion, such meetings are very useful.
“We were accepted very warmly in the Kyryliv parish of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, and also in the Messianic Jewish community of Kyiv. Active social activity is conducted in these confessions,” remarked Deacon Ihor.
After the visits a discussion of social activity of the UGCC took place with the participation of Fr. Andriy Nahirnyak, the reviewer of the Patriarchal Curia of the UGCC on social questions.
