Prayers for peace in Ukraine are discussed in a letter of support from Archbishop and Metropolitan of Presov, head of the Slovak Greek Catholic Church Vladyka Jan Babyak to the head of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church, His Beatitude Sviatoslav.

"Please accept my sincere congratulations at this difficult time for Ukraine. On January 26, His Holiness Father Francis called on the universal Catholic Church to pray for peace in Ukraine in order to ask for peace with a common prayer. I want to assure you, dear brother, that we have taken this invitation of the Holy Father to pray in our Presov diocese very seriously," the letter reads," the head of the Slovak Greek Catholic Church wrote.

According to the UGCC Information Department, Bishop Jan Babyak notes that the fate of Ukraine and its people is very close to him.

"Together with our fathers and faithful, I wish you to live in peace and freedom, to glorify our Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore, by uniting in prayer with His Holiness Father Francis and with you, I pass on the severity of the situation in our beloved Ukraine to God's mercy and under the protection of our Heavenly Mother, the Most Holy Theotokos. May the Merciful Lord bless you and all the people of Ukraine!"- notes the archbishop and Metropolitan of Pryashiv.
