Head of UGCC and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine discussed a number of joint projects
On November 14, 2019, His Beatitude Sviatoslav, the Head of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church, met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Vadym Prystaiko at the latter's invitation.
According to the Information Department of the UGCC, during the meeting the head of the UGCC told about the international activities of the Church, in particular, his visits to Austria on November 7-13, 2019, and the United States in may and June 2019.
The Minister highly appreciated the contribution of the UGCC to the unification processes both in Ukraine and abroad for the sake of preserving the spiritual integrity and identity of Ukrainians.
The interlocutors also discussed current and future joint projects aimed at celebrating important dates from the history of Ukraine abroad and honoring the memory of outstanding personalities, in particular, Metropolitan Andriy Sheptytsky, helping migrant workers, familiarizing the world community with Ukrainian culture and spiritual heritage.
His Beatitude Sviatoslav invited representatives of the foreign Ministry to take part in the Patriarchal Council, which will be held on August 26-29, 2020 in Lviv. The theme of the Council: "Emigration, Settlement and Global Unity of the UGCC".
The interlocutors stressed the importance of establishing direct contacts with the communities of foreign Ukrainians in order to convey the truth about Ukraine, the development of effective people's diplomacy.
