Head of UGCC: We hope that the world will truly support Ukraine in all negotiations
According to the UGCC Department for Information, His Beatitude Sviatoslav emphasized that, despite the declining attention from global media, Ukraine continues to act as “a shield for Europe and the world” every day.
This week, he remembered all those who have given their lives for their homeland and thanked the Armed Forces of Ukraine for their heroic struggle.
“This week, we are once again proclaiming to the whole world: Ukraine stands, Ukraine fights, Ukraine prays!” stated the Primate.
His Beatitude Sviatoslav also announced the upcoming celebration of the 30th anniversary of the restoration of the Kyiv Archeparchy and the 20th anniversary of the return of the Head of the UGCC to the capital. These events will take place on August 17 at the Patriarchal Cathedral.
"Upon returning to Kyiv at that time, Patriarch Lubomyr proclaimed a manifesto of unity and cooperation among the Ukrainian Churches of Volodymyr's baptism under the slogan 'One people of God in the land of the Kyiv Mountains.' He invited our Orthodox brothers to cooperate — from mutual struggle to primacy in love,” recalled the Head of the UGCC. “During the scientific conference, we intend to reflect on my great predecessor's words, renew them, and adapt them to the realities of today’s church, social, and state life.”
His Beatitude Sviatoslav also announced that a youth pilgrimage would occur the day before, on August 16.
“I invite everyone to participate in these significant and meaningful events,” urged the Head of the UGCC. “We are not only remembering the past; we are building the future.”
