In Chernihiv, on Easter, different Christian denominations united in prayer for peace for Ukraine
According to Cheline, this is a unique event that has never occurred before.
“This is more than just a common prayer; it is a powerful gesture of spiritual solidarity at a time when Ukraine needs unity more than ever.”

"Chernihiv exemplifies ecumenism. The bishops of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine (OCU), Anthony, and the Ukrainian Orthodox Church (UOC), Nicodemus, along with clergy from the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church (UGCC), the Roman Catholic Church (RCC), and Protestants, held a joint ecumenical prayer service for Ukraine, its soldiers, and for victory and peace at the historic Trinity Cathedral in honor of Easter," commented Dr. Serhii Shumylo, a resident of Chernihiv and a church historian.
"Instead of fostering enmity, it is encouraging to witness the development of ecumenical dialogue, which represents the future. This is especially significant during Easter, which this year is celebrated together by Christians of both the East and West. Christ is truly risen!"
