"The desired freedom will be achieved eventually": Monks of Mount Athos voiced predictions for Ukraine

"Since the beginning of the war, we have all been praying for Ukraine. Now justice is on its side. I believe that the Lord knows how to curb this catastrophe," says Chrysostomos, an elder from the Skete of St. Panteleimon.

Also, on Mount Athos, a historic event took place - the first Divine Service in the Ukrainian language was held by our priests. There was a prayer for Ukraine, for its defenders, for victory.

"We hope that soon, next year, we will have a victory for our country... This is a historic day for us that we will remember for the rest of our lives," says Fr. Igor Kogut.

In turn, the abbot of the monastery Simonopetra Elisha says that on Mount Athos, there is a "weapon" for Ukraine - prayer. And he shared his predictions for our country:

"One thing we can say with confidence is that after all this, something good will come out in the end, something new. This desired freedom will be achieved eventually - for Ukraine and its Church."
