In one month, OCU increased by a number of parishes equal to the total amount that the Churches of Poland, Czech Lands and Slovakia and Jerusalem have
The pace of the transfer of religious parishes to the Orthodox Church of Ukraine is increasing, taking into account the conservatism of the church environment.
Religious scholar Dmytro Horevoy said this in an exclusive commentary on Pryamyy TV Channel.
“Of course, this is just the beginning of the process, because in general the church environment is slower and conservative, so the dynamic we are observing is very high for this kind of environment. Indeed, it is four times higher than in the previous five years. When someone asks: 325 parishes – is it many or not, according to my calculations, it is equal in size to the three autocephalous Churches, such as the Polish, Czech and Jerusalem Churches. Combined, they have 320-340 parishes, that is, we have as many parishes as three large church entities have, which is a rather large figure,” he said.
