Interdenominational Council of Crimea Extends Condolences to Crimean Tatars on Deportation Anniversary
The Crimean Interdenominational Council Peace is a Gift of God extended condolences to the Crimean Tatars on the 69th anniversary of the deportation of their nation from the Crimea. This was expressed in a letter of the council to Mufti of the Crimean Muslims, Khadzhi Emirali Ablaiev, the press service of the Spiritual Board of Muslims of the Crimea reports.
“The tragedy of the Tatar people is a tragedy of our whole country. May of 1944 when the peaceful population was deported by force from the homeland is echoed with pain in our hearts,” noted the council.
On May 18, the Tatars mark the 69th anniversary of the Genocide of the Crimean Tatars. On May 17, in all the mosques of the Crimea, prayer services for the victims of the deportation will be conducted.
